The Role

You will be a key member of the Aviation & Operations team and will work with the Executive General Manager– Aviation and Operations to execute the organisational service delivery outcomes defined in our Business Strategy. You will also work closely with the Executive General Manager Health and Clinical Services and relevant health leaders to facilitate effective health services across our operational footprint.

You will also lead efforts to strengthen and align organisational culture, fostering a values-led and high-performance environment across our geographically dispersed workforce.


You will be responsible for the management of RFDSSE day-to-day operations conducted from our bases to assure the effective delivery of health care services across our various service portfolios. This includes responsibility for aviation operations and supporting broader health performance targets through collaboration, management and coordination of multi-disciplinary teams and assets across a wide geographic footprint.


Success in this role requires a collaborative approach to engaging internal stakeholders such as Health, Maintenance, Flight Operations, and Corporate Services, as well as external partners including health departments, emergency services, and contracted providers.


Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business Management or a related discipline, or equivalent role experience
  • Demonstrated performance in a service oriented operational role across health, aviation or complex logistics involving multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience leading operations in a 24/7, shift-based workforce
  • Demonstrated success leading cultural change and embedding organisational values into operational practice
  • Eligibility to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Skilled in the preparation and presentation of budgets and reports
  • Experience implementing complex, agile change in an operational environment
